It was  a proud and humbling moment for Gambia Participates as we were honoured by our peers in the civil society community with three prestigious recognitions:

  • Outstanding NGO/CSO of the Year Award
  • Transparency & Anti-Corruption Champion Award
  • Democratic Governance & Civic Participation Champion Award

 

Recognition That Comes From Home

What makes this recognition deeply special is where it comes from,  the civil society community itself. Being acknowledged by fellow organisations who understand the realities, pressures, and purpose behind this work carries profound meaning. It is a reminder that impact is not only measured in outputs and reports, but also in trust, solidarity, and shared commitment to national development.

A Journey of Purpose & Imapct


Civil society work is rewarding, but it is never easy. It comes with frustrations, risks, and mental fatigue. Advocacy demands patience. Accountability requires courage. Civic engagement calls for persistence even when progress feels slow.These awards therefore represent more than achievement they affirm that consistency and persistence matter.

A Collective Achievement

This recognition belongs to many:

  • Every staff member (past & present)  who believed in the mission of redefining civic engagement
  • Every board member whose guidance shaped our direction
  • Every partner who stood with us in critical moments
  • Every citizen who chose participation over silence

We extend sincere appreciation to TANGO for pausing to celebrate the work of civil society organisations. The contributions of NGOs, CSOs, and CBOs across sectors  governance, transparency, development, and social accountability  continue to play a vital role in strengthening national progress.

Moments like these are not an endpoint; they are motivation to do more.

As we celebrate, we also reflect. Recognition increases responsibility. The expectations of citizens grow, and rightly so. We remain committed to strengthening participation, promoting transparency, and advancing democratic governance in The Gambia.
