In preparation for the 2026 Presidential Election, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of
The Gambia conducted a Supplementary Voter Registration (SVR) from 8 April to 21 May 2026,
as mandated by the Elections Act, 2025,
1 which requires the IEC to conduct both general and
supplementary voter registration. This exercise was built on the general voter registration
conducted in June 2021, which had registered a total of 962,157 voters
