About This Publication
This publication presents the second round of the 2026 Presidential Election Opinion Poll conducted by Gambia Participates (GP). It is designed for citizens, civil society organisations, political actors, researchers, development partners and the media to screen through the current political landscape, track citizen sentiments’ ahead of the election, monitor candidate performance and compare it with the August 2025 poll published by GP. Its purpose is to make the survey evidence accessible without overstating what an opinion poll can establish.
The report examines intended electoral participation and reasons for possible non-participation; the issues respondents expect to influence their vote; public attitudes towards the possible candidacies of President Adama Barrow and Ousainou Darboe; willingness to vote for each candidate; perceptions of selected opposition coalition arrangements; preferred coalition leadership; present voting intention; and perceptions of which candidate has the best chance of winning. It also compares matched indicators with the August 2025 election poll (Round 1) and examines variation by gender, age group, and Local Government Area.
